Thanks for the correction - I stole the list from XLR8R's RSS feed, which was incorrect when compared to the Paxahau and other sites.

Amazing band, glad to see them getting a great response. They feature in the top albums of the decade here http://bit.ly/5O0RYX

Anyway...I've been here for 10 years and I'm fully aware of the Beaumont clubs different phases. You just didn't specify that you meant people who exclusively went to that club were white trash. And since when was Pabst Blue Ribbon ironic?

Justin, while I appreciate your comments, as a person who's lived here my entire life, I'm very familiar with the history of the Beaumont Club that a person such as yourself, who hasn't lived in Kansas City for most of their life, may not be aware of. The Beaumont Club, was, indeed, before the last 2-4 years, essentially a white trash cowboy/metal bar.

That might sound like an insult to you, but for most Kansas Citians - real KC - that's almost a badge of honor. If you were looking for PBR before it was ironic, wanted to ride a mechanical bull and end the night possibly getting your ass beat to the tune of the new Dwight Yoakam, that was your place to be.

That being said, the Beaumont needs to upgrade their sound - that's a positive thing, Justin. If they don't, they are going to cause a lot of bands that aren't going to settle for "just whatever" to go back to skipping KC when planning tours.

I'm not concerned about the egos at the Beaumont - I'm concerned about the concert/show experience of people who pay $XX/ticket to go to a show there.

While I tend to agree with some of you points I can't help but wonder...Do you ever have anything positive to say? What do you mean when you say call locals white trash. Maybe you should just lower your expectations before you leave the house or better yet just stay in. All people like you do is push KC down deeper than it already is. There are many good shows all over town that do way more to promote local music than your blog. Maybe try Overland Park in the future. I think it may be more your speed.

Anne was a pillar of the music and art scene in Kansas City. She is leaving behind a husband, Kurt and their two children. A gathering was planned at 7:30 Friday evening at the Rime Buddhist Center in Kansas City.

A visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and a service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, both at the Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost.

Yes, and yes. I want to see some deep knee bends, and a few countdowns that night. Let's make sure to get together on this one for sure. I forget what day it is often, so perhaps a friendly reminder a few days prior to the show? I don't wanna miss this one for anything.
